About midwest maple
Maple sugaring has been a part of the Holoubek Family history, along with dairy farming, for four generations. Dairy farming and maple sugaring have always been tied together in their family. It was a hobby for the family having 60-75 buckets hanging from trees every other year to produce enough to share with family and friends.
Producing maple syrup the old fashion way, boiling on an open pan, took a lot of time their family farm could not afford to share. In 2010, the family decided to expand their maple syrup production as a way of transitioning out of dairy farming. Holoubek Family Farms Maple Syrup was officially born, expanding to 150 taps in 2010 and growing every year thereafter. Expansion continued with the purchase of an evaporator, additional taps, and the building of the sugar house in 2011.
